Summary of Addendum One to RFB-44-27
This is an addendum to an Invitation to Bid issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for accommodations and hospitality upgrades to the Jenny Wiley Resort Park Convention Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Addendum One provides comprehensive specifications for the project, which includes general requirements, selective demolition, thermal and moisture protection, openings, finishes, specialties, furnishings, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and communications work. The specifications cover detailed requirements for photographic documentation, selective demolition procedures, joint sealants, hollow metal frames, flush wood doors, door hardware, non-structural metal framing, gypsum veneer plastering, gypsum board installation, and other interior construction elements. The project encompasses extensive work on the conference center's interior, including the installation of new finishes, fixtures, and systems while protecting existing items to remain and coordinating work with ongoing facility operations.
The addendum establishes technical standards and performance requirements for all materials and installation work, with emphasis on contractor compliance with industry standards including ASTM, ANSI, BHMA, and ICC specifications. All contractors must engage qualified subcontractors and suppliers, provide detailed shop drawings and product data, and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project. Special attention is given to protective measures during demolition, coordination with existing building systems, and phasing to avoid disruption to the owner's operations. Warranty periods are specified for various components, ranging from one to five years depending on the material or system, and the contractor bears responsibility for all repairs and replacements of damaged existing work resulting from construction activities.
