About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to a formal sealed bid issued by the Incorporated Village of Garden City, New York for 2026 Tree Removal, Pruning, Stump Grinding, Planting, & Emergency Calls services. The addendum extends the original bid opening date from July 30, 2026 to August 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM EDT and provides revised specifications for Items 2A-F covering stump removals on pages 48-49 of the contract documents. The original bid was issued on July 10, 2026. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by including a completed acknowledgement page signed by an authorized company representative with their bid proposal. All other provisions of the contract documents remain in full force and effect.
The addendum clarifies the distinction between stump removal (Items 2A-F) and stump grinding (Items 3A-F), which were previously causing confusion among potential bidders. Item 1A-1F covers tree removal and includes complete tree removal, disposal of wood chips, installation of topsoil to fill holes, traffic protection, and grass seed installation, though stump grinding or removal is handled separately under Items 2A-F or 3A-F respectively. Tree planting services require contractors to pick up trees from Village stock near 108 Rockaway Avenue and provide watering every other day for a minimum of three months, which represents substantial labor requirements under prevailing wage rates.

The Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all stump material, roots, soil unsuitable for backfill, and other debris generated by the removal operation outside Village limits unless otherwise approved by the Engineer, Inspector, or Village Representative.
