About this file

This is Addendum No. 2 to Solicitation No. 864-12012024 issued by Randolph Community College in Asheboro, NC, dated January 17, 2025, regarding the procurement of IP camera additions for campus surveillance and detection. The addendum provides clarifications through a Q&A format addressing technical aspects of the camera installation project, which involves integrating new IP cameras with the existing Digital Watchdog surveillance system.

The document clarifies that contractors are not responsible for warranting existing cable if used, nor for making repairs where cameras are moved or replaced. It confirms that patch cables must be provided from panel to switch ports, IP address information will be provided by the Computer Services Department, and multiple pricing options can be submitted for different camera installation scenarios. The addendum specifically states that no redlines to the contract will be accepted as they are state terms and conditions, and identifies the Computer Technology Center server room as the switch location for CTC cameras.

Dear Prospective Bidder, This Addendum serves to provide the following clarifications, modifications, or additional information regarding the solicitation referenced above. Please note that all provisions of the solicitation not modified by this Addendum remain unchanged.

1. Questions and Answers from submitted emails and the site visit.

A list of questions submitted by prospective bidders/proposers and the corresponding answers.

· Question 1: If we use existing cable, do we have to warranty that cable?

· Answer: No. Just verify that the cable is valid and working correctly before using it.

· Question 2: There is a camera in the administration building section with a note stating to move the existing camera. We need details about the type of camera and mounting options. Do we have to repair the areas the camera will be moved from?

· Answer: No. That is a Randolph Community College issue, and we will make those repairs.

· Question 3: For camera 13 is there an existing raceway where we can pull cable into the pole? If yes is this raceway sharded with high voltage? If not, are we responsible for the raceway? Are there specific trenching contractors we need to use?

· Answer: No to all questions.

· Question 4: Will space on a patch panel be provided on the existing data racks?

· Answer: Yes, if one is open and available. For any patch panel that is full and has no availability, then a patch panel may be supplied to complete the work.

· Question 5: Will we need to provide patch cables from the patch panel to the switch ports?

· Answer: Yes, the vendor will be responsible for providing cables from the patch panel to the switch if patch panels are utilized.

· Question 6: From whom will we obtain information on ports and IP addresses to use?

· Answer: Randolph Community College’s Computer Services Department.

· Question 7: When removing existing cameras are we responsible for making repairs if the new camera doesn’t cover up paint or damage from the camera it replaces.

· Answer: No, Randolph Community College will make those repairs as needed.

· Question 8: Would it be possible to submit one set of bid numbers as if all cameras were installed and another set of numbers if only select cameras are installed?

· Answer: You can select and submit as many options as you choose in the bid document, but every option, the pricing, and details need to be clearly marked and differentiated in the document.

· Question 9: Would Randolph CC accept modifications or red lines in the contract?

· Answer: No redlines will be accepted. These are the state’s general terms and conditions, and we cannot change them without prior approval.

· Question 10: What is the switch location for the cameras in the Computer Technology Center (CTC)?

· Answer: The Computer Technology Center (CTC) server room.
