About this file

This is Addendum 2 to solicitation FBRWW0091-27 issued by the City of Asheville, North Carolina for service saddles required by the Water Maintenance Division. The addendum revises the bid submission deadline to 3:00 p.m. on September 3, 2026, providing bidders with an updated timeline for sealed bid submission. The original bid due date of August 20, 2026 was previously postponed by Addendum 1, and this second addendum establishes the new firm deadline. Bidders are required to sign and include the addendum with their bid packages to ensure compliance with solicitation requirements.

The addendum clarifies technical specifications for two product options: the Romac 202NS and the Smith-Blair 313 series. The City has confirmed that stainless steel components are mandatory for both products to meet application requirements, despite the associated additional cost, based on the superior corrosion resistance and extended service life these materials provide. For the Smith-Blair 313 series, vendors are permitted to source stainless steel bales and hardware from the manufacturer to satisfy specifications. Bidders with questions should contact Fahad Yoosuf, Purchasing Coordinator, at fyoosuf@ashevillenc.gov.

ADDENDUM 2

DATE: August 21, 2026

TO: Bidders

RE: Addendum 2 for FBRWW0091-27 Service Saddles

The purpose of this Addendum is to provide a new bid due date and clarify the specifications. Bids are due by3:00 p.m., September 3, 2026.

Clarification:

Regarding theRomac 202NS, we understand that specifying stainless steel components comes at an additional cost. However, stainless steel is a requirement for our applications, and I believe the additional cost is justified by the increased corrosion resistance and expected service life.

Regarding theSmith-Blair 313 series, the 313 can also be ordered with stainless steel bales (straps) and hardware that would meet our specification. It would be up to the vendor to convey these needs to the manufacturer.

Please sign this addendum and include it with your bid package.
