About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to Request for Proposal Number 260179 issued by the City of Wichita, Kansas, Public Works & Utilities Department/Sewage Treatment Division for the disposal of special waste at a Municipal Solid Waste Sub-D Landfill. The project involves the disposal of non-hazardous wastewater grit and screenings generated by the Sewage Treatment Plant No. 2 located at 2305 E. 57th Street South. The City estimates annual production of approximately 2,400 tons of special waste requiring disposal. The original proposal due date was established as Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Vendors must acknowledge receipt of this addendum electronically through the City's Procurement Portal (wichita.gov/procurementportal) and include the acknowledgment with their bid submission.

The addendum provides clarifications regarding the material composition and contractor responsibilities. The grit material differs from the Northwest wastewater treatment site and consists primarily of sand, seeds, snails, rocks, and other washed materials, with analytical testing available upon request. The screening material comprises fibrous materials, hair, and other debris, with analytical data combined with grit testing results. A material profile is available upon request from the City. The contract will be structured on a net ton price basis for disposal services, and the contractor will be responsible for scheduling waste pickups and signing all required manifests. A preference exists for landfill facilities located within the State of Kansas. All other terms and conditions from the original solicitation remain unchanged.
