About this file
This is an Addendum to a Request for Proposal issued by the City of Wichita, Kansas, Public Works & Utilities/Engineering Department for the Construction of a Retaining Wall at Cessna East Park (RFP No. 260183). The addendum, dated July 28, 2026, modifies the original bid specifications and was due for acknowledgment by Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The project scope includes site demolition, excavation, and erosion control. A pre-bid meeting was held with attendance from City staff including Ranim Abi Ali (Associate Planner), Tim Kellams (Principal Planner), Valerie Falo (Purchasing), Kyle Kerms (Construction Engineer), and Jennifer Hurley from So Kan Excavating.
The primary modification contained in Addendum 1 expands Bid Item 6 (Temporary Fencing) to require orange construction fencing around all playground equipment at the adjacent playground. Contractors must attach the fencing directly to each piece of playground equipment to effectively close access and prevent use of the entire playground, with fencing to remain in place until project completion. All vendors were required to electronically acknowledge receipt of the addendum through the City's Procurement Portal (wichita.gov/procurementportal) and submit acknowledgment with their bid proposals. The addendum was processed by Josh L. Lauber, Purchasing Manager, and becomes part of the solicitation to the same extent as the original bid documents.
