About this file
This is an Addendum to a Request for Bid issued by the City of Wichita, Kansas Transportation Department for janitorial services at Douglas Avenue bus shelters. The bid number is 260170, with responses due on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The scope of work includes emptying trash cans outside the shelters, picking up trash and debris from concrete pads and inside shelters, cleaning all glass surfaces, removing beverage and food spills, gum removal, sweeping cigarette butts, wiping down interior surfaces including benches, and removing graffiti. Downtown shelters do not have trash cans; however, all trash and debris must be properly disposed of by the contractor.
The addendum clarifies two critical requirements for bidders: first, if bonds are required, the successful vendor must furnish a performance bond equal to one hundred percent of the total contract value and a labor and material payment bond running to the State of Kansas in an amount not less than the total contract value; second, the minimum three years of direct experience in providing similar services must be held by the prime bidder itself, as awarded contracts will not permit the utilization of subcontractors. All vendors must electronically acknowledge receipt of this addendum through the City's Procurement Portal and file the acknowledgement with their bid submission.
