About this file
This is Addendum 1 to Request for Bid 160-25 issued by the New Hampshire Department of Administrative Services, Division of Procurement and Support Services, for the procurement of modular bridges for Merrimack County. The solicitation seeks two prefabricated modular "hybrid" bridge systems, each consisting of two 8-foot by 40-foot modular steel sections with pre-installed white oak timber decking, designed for HS25 loading capacity (45-ton/5-axle tractor-trailer). The bridges must feature a minimum 15-foot clear deck width, tapered beam ends, bolted center panels, pipe guardrails, and certified stamped design suitable for repeated deployment and low-maintenance deck replacement. The bid closing date is May 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time, with delivery required no later than December 1, 2025, to Bear Brook State Park Warehouse and Cloutier Sand & Gravel. The addendum clarifies that the bridges will be used for logging and other heavy equipment operations and confirms that bids for alternate products meeting the minimum requirements specified in paragraph 24 of the bid document are acceptable, including alternative materials such as aluminum designs.
The addendum addresses three bidder inquiries: confirming that no detailed drawings or specifications are currently available; clarifying that the bid is not specific to any particular manufacturer, allowing vendors to propose alternate products meeting stated requirements; and confirming the portable bridge application for truck weight ratings and heavy equipment use. The state reserves the right to award based on lowest total bid and to reject any or all submissions. Comprehensive warranty coverage must include 100 percent of parts, shipping, labor, travel, lodging, and expenses for a minimum of one year or the manufacturer's standard warranty period. Delivery terms are FOB Destination with no additional storage fees, and the State of New Hampshire will manage permitting, off-loading, and installation. Vendors must submit material safety data sheets and comply with state procurement regulations and environmental guidelines.

Question 1: The scope calls for a portable, non-hinged hybrid bridge system consisting of two 8'x40' modular steel sections with pre-installed white oak decking, designed for HS25 loading and field relocation using standard equipment. The also bridge should include bolted center panels, pipe guardrails, tapered beam ends, and a certified stamped design, with features optimized for repeated deployment and low-maintenance deck replacement.
