About this file
This document is a technical specification section (Section 074113) for a Standing Seam Metal Roof installation, detailing comprehensive requirements for thermal and moisture protection roofing. The specification covers standing-seam metal roof panels with 24-gauge metallic-coated steel sheets, featuring a two-coat fluoropolymer exterior finish and a color-matched adjacent building requirement. Key technical requirements include performance standards such as wind load resistance, air infiltration limits (0.06 cfm/sq. ft.), water penetration resistance, and thermal movement accommodations.
The document provides extensive installation guidelines, including underlayment preparation, panel fastening methods, accessory installation, and quality control measures. Manufacturers must provide a 20-year weathertightness warranty and a 20-year finish warranty, with specific performance criteria like color fading limits (no more than 5 Delta E units) and chalking restrictions. The specification lists multiple potential manufacturers, including AEP Span, ATAS International, Berridge Manufacturing Company, and others, offering flexibility in product selection while maintaining strict technical standards for the metal roof panel system.
