About this file
This is an addendum to a construction bid document for the 2026 SW Water Project in Orem, Utah, containing a revised bid schedule with 60 line items for water infrastructure improvements. The project encompasses installation of approximately 13,515 linear feet of DR-18 C900 waterline in 12", 8", and 6" diameters, 1,524 linear feet of 8" dual wall perforated HDPE groundwater pipe, 31 fire hydrant installations, 7 new 48-inch diameter groundwater manholes, approximately 573,272 square feet of asphalt restoration in varying thicknesses, curb and gutter work, concrete flatwork, and associated utility connections and adjustments. The bid schedule includes lump sum items for mobilization, traffic control, construction surveying, storm water pollution prevention planning, and public involvement, along with unit price items for individual components such as valves, bends, tees, sleeves, and lateral reconnections. All work shall comply with 2017 APWA Standard Specifications and the 2024 City of Orem Supplemental Document to those specifications.
The bid requires inclusion of all sales taxes and applicable fees in submitted prices. Payment terms are structured as lump sum or unit price contracts depending on item type, with partial payments made based on overall project completion percentages or upon submission of required documentation such as SWPPP logs. The compaction and density control testing allowance of $30,000 is established with contractor responsible for coordinating with the city and adding 15 percent to actual testing costs. Notes throughout the schedule detail specific construction requirements including trench box and shoring specifications, minimum trench widths ranging from 6 to 12 feet depending on utility type, roadbase compaction requirements, landscape and sprinkler restoration at Springwater Park, and exclusions for certain structure collaring work on designated streets. The project emphasizes utility conflict avoidance through pottholing, restoration of existing improvements, and coordination with the Project Manager and Engineer for any field adjustments or unforeseen conditions.
