About this file
This solicitation is for a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Project. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is seeking to address challenges with transferring 911 calls and data between Public Safety Answering Points and to emergency responders on the FirstNet network due to the current decentralized and disparate nature of CAD systems among an estimated 50 to 200 vendors. A transition to digital, internet protocol-based Next Generation 911 and FirstNet networks requires standardized CAD/data to enable connectivity. Efforts to better understand issues facing CAD integration and data sharing within 911 systems and with FirstNet are currently underway, however questions remain regarding the advisability of CAD/data uniformity versus interfacing disparate CAD systems, and how these issues should be addressed.
