About this file

This document is a Statement of Special Inspections for the Patrick County Business Development Center project located at 132/136 Slusher St. in Stuart, VA. It outlines the special inspection requirements and procedures to be followed during construction in accordance with the International Building Code and Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. The special inspections will be conducted by approved special inspection agents, including AECOM, to verify compliance with the contract documents. The special inspections cover key areas such as foundation bearing capacity, soil material, controlled fill placement, and concrete reinforcement. The special inspector will maintain detailed records, submit periodic reports, and provide a final report documenting the completion of required special inspections and correction of any discrepancies noted.

The document also specifies the responsibilities of the contractor to cooperate with the special inspections, provide access, and correct any deficiencies identified. The special inspection program does not relieve the contractor of their responsibility to comply with the contract documents or to implement an effective quality control program. The owner will directly employ and pay for the special inspection services.
