About this file
The file is a comprehensive set of technical specifications and contract documents for the 2025 Transmission Mains Rehabilitation Program issued by the City of Aurora Water Department in Colorado. The project encompasses two primary sites: Airport Boulevard and East Alameda Avenue, involving the installation of new valves, line stops, and pipeline condition assessment preparations. Specifically, the work includes installing a Hydra Stop valve on a 24-inch ductile iron pipe at Airport Boulevard, implementing two nearby line stops, removing and replacing two pipe sections for condition assessment tool insertion, and performing similar operations on a 16-inch steel pipeline at East Alameda Avenue. The project also requires site restoration, with all work to be completed under a single contract.
The project is funded through the City of Aurora and involves detailed technical specifications covering everything from pipe materials and valve types to installation procedures and testing requirements. The specifications indicate a rigorous approach to infrastructure rehabilitation, with explicit requirements for material quality, installation techniques, and post-installation testing. While precise budget details are not explicitly stated, the documents suggest a comprehensive approach to municipal water infrastructure maintenance, with a focus on precision, quality control, and minimal service disruption. The project appears to be part of a broader municipal infrastructure improvement initiative, with specific attention to maintaining water distribution system integrity and preparing for future condition assessments.
