About this file
This document is an Addendum to Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 4-B176-Q-00683-00 for Radiological Waste Transportation and Disposal at Argonne National Laboratory. The addendum is being issued to modify the Statement of Work (SOW) by removing the requirement for onsite removal, transportation, treatment, and disposal of low-level radioactive waste wastewater. The document provides clarification on pricing, including that only Compensation Schedule C should be used for pricing. The RFQ is seeking contractors to provide treatment and disposal services for mixed low-level waste (MLLW) debris, MLLW non-debris, and low-level waste (LLW) that are contaminated with RCRA and/or TSCA regulated waste constituents and radioactive isotopes. Proposals will be evaluated based on best value methodology and should include a technical proposal, business proposal, price proposal, and completed required forms.

09/04/2024 This addendum is being issued to modify the subject REQUEST FOR Quotation (RFQ) 4-B176-Q-00683-00 as follows:
1. Page 3 of SOW, Section 3.0 Scope, Last Paragraph states “Provide onsite Removal Services, Transportation, Treatment, and Disposal of Low-Level Radioactive Waste Wastewater from Room C033 Acid Storage Tank at Building 306.
a. Questions 1 - How Low-Level Radioactive Waste Wastewater does ANL expect to ship at a time and at what frequencies?
b. Question 2 – Will the removal of this Waste Wastewater require the use of a vacuum truck or can the material be pumped direction into the transport conveyance/package?
c. Question 3 – Will large over the road tankers be needed to transport the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Wastewater (i.e. 5,000 gallon tankers), or is the volume small enough to package into 375 gallon totes and shipped with the drummed waste?
d. Question 4 – Please provide the radiological characterization that would represent the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Wastewater waste stream.
e. If material is required to be pumped out of the storage tank, what is the distance from where the material is located to where the tanker would be located (i.e. how much hose should we account for in performing this work?)?
This part of the scope no longer applies and has been removed from the new SOW, dated September 4, 2024.
2. General Question – throughout the SOW it states that the “All waste treated pursuant to this section shall be priced in accordance with Compensation Schedule A” (and in some sections this identifies Compensation Schedule B and also C). One Schedule C was included with the RFP. Are there more Compensation Schedules that should have been provided with the RFP or is all pricing to be provided on just Compensation Schedule C?
Please use only Schedule C.
