RESPONSES TO REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
QUESTION 1
Can the traffic control equipment stay up overnight up top on Waukegan Road?
RESPONSE 1
The traffic control equipment along the topside of Waukegan Rd Bridge is to perform the work associated with bridge joint gland replacement as well as to minimize the live load during the bearing replacement work below the bridge deck. The joint work is short term (less than 1 day) after which the barrels/cones will be pulled back behind the lane line and will remain in place for the bearing replacement. No equipment of personnel is expected to be present on the topside of Waukegan Rd during bearing replacement operations, and the bearing replacement is estimated to be completed in 4-5 days after which all MOT devices must be removed.
