Attachment 6 – Oral Presentation Questions
Oral Presentation Questions:
Offerors shall make presentations to the NSF describing their approach, organization, and experience with regards to the following three significant tasks in the Statement of Work (SOW) (SOW sections referenced below). Where possible, offerors will provide an example where the same or similar process/method has been used on previous projects. Per the solicitation instructions, offerors will be limited to 50 visual presentation slides, 15 written pages of written documentation (consistent with section L.5.3 requirements) provided with the presentation, and two hours of presentation time. Please see section L. 8 of the solicitation for further instructions. NSF reserves the right to ask questions for purposes of clarification at the end of the presentation or two hours, whichever comes first.
• C.2.3: Final Design Phase (Task 1) C.2.3.2: Ship Builder Solicitation, Evaluation, and Contract
C.2.3.2.d & e: Describe your proposed solicitation process and criteria for evaluating and selecting a qualified ship builder in a competitive manner.
C.2.3.2.f: Describe how and when your team will engage with the ship builder for value engineering to ensure the design is buildable by the selected ship builder within a proposed final budget and schedule.
• C.2.4: Construction Stage (Task 2) C.2.4.1 & 2: Ship Builder Oversight
C.2.4.1.b, c & e: Describe how your team will ensure a timely and comprehensive completion of the detailed design, regulatory approvals, and production engineering so that fabrication starts and stays on schedule.
C.2.4.2.a: Describe your approach to providing an on-site team and working with the ship builder to ensure the required quality of fabrication, tests and trials, management of changes, and maintaining schedule and costs within budget.
(Task 3) C.2.4.3: Transition to Operations C.2.4.3.c & d: Describe your approach for coordinating with the ship operator, NSF, and Science Advisory Subcommittee (SASC) for planning and conducting the science and ice sea trials.
C.2.4.3.e: Describe how you will manage the warranty period and post shakedown availability. Describe what your organizational structure will look like.
