About this file

This document is a water treatment services report for the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. It provides test results for various water systems at the facility, including softeners, deaerator, boilers, and condensate lines. Water quality parameters such as hardness, alkalinity, pH, conductivity, orthophosphate, sulfite, iron, and chloride levels are reported and compared against specification limits. The boiler treatment results are within specification limits except for slightly elevated neutralized conductance and iron in the condensate lines. Recommendations include maintaining the functioning water softeners, investigating the cause of low condensate return and elevated iron in the condensate, and confirming whether hospital condensate is being improperly discharged. The attached federal contract opportunity is for water system chemical treatment services under solicitation number 36C25920Q0333 from the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19.

The boiler treatment is very good. The neutralized conductance is just slightly high - I have checked the boiler conductivity and made a slight correction to bring this in range.

The boiler is in standby.

The boiler is in standby.

Off.

The condensate pH is on target, bu the iron is elevated and it measured 1 ppm of hardness.

The condensate treatment is perfect with perfect corrosion protection.

Recommendations The water softener is perfect!

The water softener is perfect!

The DA hardness is in range, but the iron levels are elevated and the % condensate return is VERY low. Have you lost condensate? The boiler operators indicated that the hospital condensate was hard - is this being dumped?
