The amendment provides a revised Statement of Work, drawings/pictures related to Building 225's portable boiler setup, and announces a second site visit scheduled for January 6, 2024 at 9:00am CST at Building 225 Waco Boiler Plant. Technical questions are due by January 10, 2024 at 10:00am CST.
The revised SOW details requirements for installing 480v/208v electrical service hardware and equipment to support a portable boiler in Building 225. Key technical requirements include: removing and re-chipping an existing 800amp breaker to 200amps, core drilling through walls with proper sealing, installing conduit and supports, pouring a concrete pad for transformer placement, and installing Square D (or equal) electrical disconnects rated NEMA 3. The work requires coordination with VA staff for temporary shutdowns and has a 90-day period of performance. The contractor must follow specific safety protocols including OSHA training requirements and submit a detailed safety plan before work begins. The work will primarily be performed during normal hours (8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday) and invoicing must be done through the Tungsten System.
