g. Reuse of existing cables is allowed. Damaged cables will be replaced within the proposed contract

Answer to questions Vendor will need to warranty the complete alarm system (i.e., Alarm panels, door contacts, motion detectors, any software the vendor installs on the current OnGuard system, etc…). It is expected that if any portion of the installed alarm system fails it will be repaired by the vendor at no expense to the VA for 1 year following installation. Vendor will provide four option year costs for a Maintenance and Repair Plan encompassing the alarm system components and software installed by the vendor.

The Onguard system is warrantied by Troop construction within their contract. The warrantee for the alarm system install is to warrantee the alarm panels, points, sirens, strobes, and any software associated with the system they install and integrate into the current system. The purpose of the warrantee and maintenance agreement is to call when something fails with the system and have it repaired; parts, labor and service calls at NO expense to the VA. Although the alarms will run through Onguard, the systems they attached and all hardware need to be warrantied. “to warranty the work for a year because it's still under contract” winning contractor will need to warrantee alarm system regardless of who they are. The current system runs EPACS and the EPACS is warrantied through current contract. This has nothing to do with the Alarm system. Alarm system is not working. Contractor comes out and fixes it as part of the warrantee or option year maintenance contract.
