Answer: Section 26 05 11, Section 26 05 26, and Section 26 41 00, along with the associated work described in those sections, are not applicable to this project’s scope of work. These sections will be removed from the specification in an upcoming amendment.

3. The specifications call for 10-gauge plastic coated wire mesh, however this will not meet the fall safety requirements called out for in the plans. The only way to meet this is to increase the gauge of steel, which will mean a switch to galvanized. Was it your intent to meet the fall safety requirements and have us put together our own specifications on this, or to ignore them and follow the specifications?
Answer: The plans do not specify the fall safety requirement. Specification Section 05 70 00, Paragraph 2.1- Wire Metal Mesh, Subparagraph A.2. Specify “Material: Metal wire, 0.08” dia. Minimum” that wire size is equivalent to 12 gauge.
The contractor is to comply with the requirements in the specification for the mess.
