Please refer to sheet C200 in Addendum 01, dated 03/26/2020.

Confirm that per note 2.08, existing walls below 24” below exterior finished grade can remain in place?

Per note 2.08, remove existing walls 24” below final grade or as needed for new site work. Due to new construction, there may be some area where the existing walls may need to be removed more than 24” beneath final grade.

Are existing walls which are lower than 24” below exterior finished grade to remain vertical in place or be pulled into the basement void and crushed?

The remaining portions of the foundation walls, which are 24” or lower below final grade, can remain vertical in place.

Has the existing roof system been tested for ACM materials?

Yes. The building has slate roof tiles with underlying tar paper, which tested negative for asbestos.

Has the existing building system been tested for lead based paint?

Based on the age of the buildings and typical paint properties for the associated period in time, VA recognizes it is likely that there is paint with lead throughout both. This is a common condition in the industry and is to be handled by appropriate means and methods in compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations.

Do you have a plan holder’s list for the above referenced project you can send to me?

The process you are referring to is not applicable to Government contract bids, since plans are self-serve over the web.

We are a subcontractor for demo and were looking for a bidder list to contact for the Building Demo at the VA in Chillicothe, if you wouldn’t mind providing that.

Bidding for this project has been delayed due to current “social distancing” / health concerns.

Please check the solicitation for updates.

Looking for clarification if we’re to be mailing this bid or submitting electronically on the 14-May?

Please clarify.

Electronic bids will not be accepted at this time.
