SOW

Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, supervision, coordination, and services necessary for the removal or demolition and replacement of the following stairs, walks, and pedestrian ramps located at the Salem VA Medical Center Campus:

1. Bldg. 12 concrete pedestrian ramp located on the north-eastern side of the building

2. Bldg. 16 temporary metal pedestrian ramp

3. Bldg. 16 concrete stairs

4. Curb and sidewalk at end of sidewalk adjacent to Bldg. 16

The project design will include all necessary elements as needed to demolish or remove the existing pedestrian ramps, walks, and stairs, patching the interface between the existing structures to match surrounding building finish and their interface with adjacent structures, and the construction of new permanent pedestrian ramps consisting of the following design characteristics:

1. A concrete walking surface and sidewall construction

2. Brick façade to match adjacent buildings overlaying concrete sides

3. Welded metal railings with finish matching other railings on campus

The Curb and sidewalk at end of sidewalk adjacent to Bldg. 16 is to be modified to provide a new handicap ramp and curb, blended into the existing walks on each side, as well as the installation of any handicap navigation features.

A complete design will also require the following:

1. Construction cost estimates at each phase of design

2. Completion of the SHPO 106 design review process

3. Refinement, with final approval of the COR, of provided project specifications as well as any needed additional specifications using those located on the VA TIL

4. Adherence to all other applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and standards

5. Location of underground utilities

6. Any necessary soil testing

Anticipated project will be a single construction phase and work is to be completed within 180 days of receipt of Notice to Proceed.

It is the intent and objective of the Department of Veteran Affairs to award a contract for the design and demolition and construction of the old and new ramp.

Offeror shall provide lump sum pricing for CLIN 0001. Additionally, Offerors shall write the lump sum price in Block 17 of the 1442 along with number of days for Government acceptance.
