Question or Comment Number Question/Comment USCG Response

Please confirm the scope of this work includes Base Kodiak’s Water Distribution System, Bear Valley Golf Course, and the Buskin Beach House. Yes, those are the locations for this requirement.

Is the applicant required to be an ADEC-approved surveyor prior to quote submission?

1. Yes. Although the regulation only requires an inspection to be performed by an Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) approved surveyor, it is not feasible to obtain a new approval in time to meet the period of performance for this contract. The approval process requires completion of a class held by ADEC and they do not currently have any classes scheduled for the remainder of the calendar year. ADEC has information about the sanitary surveyor approval process and a list of approved surveyors at Sanitary Survey (alaska.gov).

3 Is this contract time and materials or fixed-fee? The award will be firm-fixed price.

Do you have a magnitude of the sanitary surveys (i.e. map of networks, total linear footage of networks, etc.)?

The scope of work includes performing sanitary surveys on 3 water systems: USCG Station Kodiak AK2250126 which is a community water system serving 3092 people with treated surface water through 466 service line connections, the USCG Bear Valley Golf Course AK2250605 which is a non-community water system serving 59 people with ground water through a single service line, and the USCG Buskin Beach House which is not a regulated public water system but serves a small transient community via a single groundwater connection. Detailed water distribution maps and information are available upon request (see general map of AK 2250126 distribution system.
