About this file

This is a Code of Conduct document for the Richardson Independent School District (RISD) in Texas that establishes mandatory requirements for all vendors, contractors, employees, agents, suppliers, and installers working on district school and project sites. The code of conduct applies across RISD's fifty schools and six professional buildings located within the district's geographical boundaries. Vendors and their personnel must comply with these standards or face removal from the site and potential contract termination. Key requirements include mandatory check-in procedures with RISD designated representatives, wearing picture ID badges while on district property, prohibition of tobacco products, drugs, and alcoholic beverages, maintaining professional and courteous conduct with prohibited use of profanity or vulgar language, and strict prohibition of all contact and fraternization with students including electronic communication and social media contact. Additional requirements mandate appropriate dress codes with proper work shoes and necessary personal protective equipment, prompt departure at shift end, prohibition of weapons on job sites or parking areas, and submission of background information for criminal evaluations.

The code of conduct further specifies that individuals with pending charges or convictions related to offenses against children, sex offenses, crimes involving weapons or violence, felony property offenses, or any other offense that may compromise student, staff, or property safety are prohibited from working on RISD property where students are present. Vendors are responsible for ensuring all their personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers comply with these requirements. The document also addresses practical operational matters, including designated restroom usage restrictions, accommodation for school-required scheduling changes and interruptions, and RISD's sole discretion in determining violations of behavioral expectations and unacceptable conduct including physical or verbal intimidation, horseplay, or fighting.
