About this file

This is a Minimum Insurance Coverage Requirements document issued by Richardson Independent School District (RISD) in Texas for vendors providing catering services across the district's fifty schools and six professional buildings. The document establishes mandatory insurance requirements that must be maintained throughout the contract duration. Vendors must carry comprehensive general liability insurance with per-occurrence limits of $1,000,000, medical expense coverage of $5,000 per person, personal and advertising injury limits of $1,000,000, and general aggregate limits of $1,000,000. Additionally, vendors are required to maintain automobile liability insurance with a combined single limit of $1,000,000 per accident and workers' compensation insurance at statutory limits. The school district must be named as an additional insured on all coverage except workers' compensation, and vendors must provide thirty days' notice of any cancellation or material changes to their policies.

Vendors are responsible for ensuring that subcontractors either procure identical insurance coverage or are insured under the vendor's own policies for the duration of their work. Current certificates of insurance or certificates of authority to self-insure must be provided and renewed prior to coverage expiration dates. Vendors must comply with Texas Labor Code requirements and post notices at each project site informing all service providers of workers' compensation coverage requirements and verification procedures. All insurance documentation must be filed with RISD and maintained throughout the contract period.
