About this file
This addendum addresses questions submitted by potential bidders for the Town of Wolcott's Road Resurfacing project through May 15, 2026. The Town of Wolcott solicited bids from qualified contractors for road resurfacing work encompassing labor, equipment, and materials for up to 5 miles of Town roadways. The Town clarified that no specific street list or detailed quantity breakdowns will be provided to bidders; contractors must base their Square Yard pricing estimates for reclaim, grade, and milling on the general scope of "up to 5 miles of roadways" as stated in the bid documents. No comparable pricing data from previous year work is available, as no similar work was performed in the prior year. Work must be performed in accordance with Connecticut Statutes governing Prevailing Wage Rates.
The addendum addresses critical project responsibilities and cost considerations for bidding contractors. The Town confirmed responsibility for bituminous curb removal, with saw cutting and removal of driveway aprons to be included in contractor pricing per Section 9.22 of DOT Form 918. Traffic control and maintenance of traffic protection, including police services if needed, will be the Town's responsibility. The Town will retain all reclaimed asphalt millings generated from the project. Notably, no escalation clause will be included in the contract, requiring bidders to provide fixed pricing for the duration of the engagement.
