About this file

This is an addendum to a Request for Proposal issued by the Town of Wolcott, Connecticut for bonded wearing course surface treatment services on town roadways. The addendum addresses bidder inquiries regarding the specific roads that will be included in the project scope. The Town of Wolcott has identified three roadways requiring surface treatment: Spindle Hill from Bristol to Hempal Drive (17,884 linear feet, 28 feet wide), Boundline from Route 69 to Woodtick (11,117 linear feet, 28 feet wide), and Beecher Road (1,574 linear feet, 20 feet wide). The total project encompasses approximately 30,575 linear feet of roadway treatment. The Town clarified that while it is requesting bids for different surface treatment options, the specific treatment type selected for each road will be determined after bids are received and evaluated. The addendum was issued in response to questions posed through May 20, 2026, indicating contractor concerns regarding equipment compatibility, material requirements, and intersection cutback considerations.

The addendum does not contain information regarding pricing terms, payment structures, set-asides for disadvantaged or minority-owned businesses, incumbent contractor details, or specific funding sources and amounts. The document serves primarily as a clarification tool to address bidder inquiries about project scope and roadway specifications rather than modifying contract terms or pricing requirements. Contractors are advised to consider the identified roadway widths and linear footage when determining equipment suitability, material quantities, and cost estimates for their proposals.

Town of Wolcott 26-09 Bonded Wearing Course

ADDENDUM #1

The following questions have been posed thru 05/20/2026. Our answers are in RED.

Question: I was hoping you would be able to provide me with some form of a road list that will dictate where work is being performed. This will greatly help us as it will determine if the anticipated areas of work are at an acceptable width to fit the paving machine, which is roughly 12’ in width, and will also allow us to consider carrying additional material for any intersection cutbacks depending on the number of roads. Please let me know if this request is feasible.

Regarding the Bonded Wearing course question the roads which we will require a surface treatment are as follows:

Spindle Hill from Bristol to Hempal Dr. (17,884 LF, 28 lf wide).

Boundline from Rt 69 to Woodtick (11,117 LF, 28 lf wide) and

Beecher (1574 LF, 20 LF wide).

However, we are requesting bids for different surface treatments and will decide on the treatment option for each road when the bids are received.
