About this file
This is a Requirements/Specifications document from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) detailing procurement requirements for a UV optical frequency doubler system. The requesting organization is the Physics Measurement Laboratory (PML), Division 688, Ion Storage Group. The Ion Storage Group requires one UV optical frequency doubler to support development of optical frequency standards, ultrastable lasers, and precision measurements with trapped ions. The system must accept an input wavelength of 534.0 nm and produce an output wavelength of 267.0 nm, including all necessary electronics, cables, and accessories for coupling light into the system and locking the frequency doubling cavity. Additional detailed specifications are contained in an attached document titled "UV_Frequency_Doubler_Specifications.docx."
Delivery and installation must be completed within 20 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). The government will provide the 534 nm input laser. Vendor responsibilities include on-site installation and equipment setup, with a vendor technician present to install the system and confirm performance. Software and electronic manuals must be provided. Training of laboratory users in alignment, optimization, and operation of the frequency doubling unit is required on-site. Government acceptance testing is expected to require 14 business days. Base manufacturer warranty is acceptable. Typical 60 Hz, 120 V power will be available at the facility. No separate maintenance or travel requirements are specified beyond standard service inclusions.
