1.Bid Alternate #1 states for elimination all new ceiling replacement work in project scope (CC237, CC222, CC224, CC225, C2461), however, after reviewing the drawings there aren’t any demo plans where it states to demo the ceiling tile and grid for the areas identified in this alternate. This also affects the sprinkler heads (turn up). Referenced in the demolition legend and symbol. Please advise.

Answer: Arjo MaxySky 1000 is the VA basis of design for ceiling-mounted patient lifts which requires a 1,000 lb capacity.
9. Sheet A-1423 in the equipment schedule PLFT refers to the ceiling mount not the lift motor. The lift motor Is usually provided by the government. Please advise.

Answer: Service and Freight Elevator are one in the same. VA COR to locate available Service Elevator on plans for contractor use.
23. Is there any fire suppression work required? There is no specification for Fire Suppression, and none indicated on the drawings.
Answer: The sprinkler system in Dental is not being replaced at this time.
24. The specification index indicates some specification sections that are not included in the specification manual. There is no spec for Metal Fabrications, Firestopping, Non-Structural Metal Framing and Ceramic/Porcelain Tiling. Reviewing the drawings, it appears there is no Ceramic/Porcelain Tiling in the Room Finish Schedule. There is misc. iron for the lift supports and there must be firestopping and at least drywall repairs.
Answer: There will be floor penetration. The floor is 2-hour rated. If any existing fireproofing is disrupted during construction or attachment of patient lift supports to the deck above, fireproofing must be patched/repair in those locations. Firestopping is not required, as no existing fire rated walls are being modified in this project. Existing wall penetrations in fire rated partitions will be existing to remain. Ceramic/Porcelain tiling spec is not required. Non-structural metal framing will be included in “for construction” documentation, along with an updated TOC.

Answer: If any existing fireproofing is disrupted during construction or attachment of patient lift supports to the deck above, fireproofing must be patched/repair in those locations. Fireproofing is not required on patient lift supports below attachment points.
