About this file
This document is a 2027 course schedule calendar published by the Ohio Fire Academy (OFA), a division of the State Fire Marshal's office in Ohio. The calendar lists comprehensive firefighting and emergency services training courses scheduled from July through December 2027, including offerings such as Firefighter I & II, Emergency Medical Technician, Confined Space Rescue Technician, Fire Officer I & II, Pump Operations, Rope Rescue Technician, Live Fire Instructor, Aerial Apparatus Operation, and numerous specialized courses in fire safety, incident response, and leadership development. Courses are delivered through three formats: campus-based instruction at the Academy's Reynoldsburg location, fully online delivery, and hybrid programs combining online and campus components. The OFA offers additional training options including the Ohio Fire Online Training System (OFOTS) membership for reduced-cost access to continuing education content, the Close to Home Series providing regional and custom delivery options, and mobile training resources such as the Fire Blast Trailer, Mobile Search & Rescue Training Lab, and Grain Bin Trailer. Course registration information and contact details are provided, including phone numbers (888-726-7731 or 614-752-7196), email (webofa@com.ohio.gov), and the website (www.fireacademy.com.ohio.gov).
The related contract opportunity specifies that the OFA Calendar and Catalog require double-sided color printing with the course calendar folded and inserted in the center of the catalog. The printing contract involves 1,356 copies to be mailed with wafer seals applied, plus an additional 1,644 copies to be delivered to Scott King, OFA Chief, for a total of 3,000 copies. The project references contract #CTR034720/SRC0000035138 and notes that a USB with required images will be provided to the awarded vendor. Specific PDF specifications are attached but not detailed in this document excerpt.

The OFA Close to Home series brings training to students while offering the same expert instructors and the Academy’s extensive range of apparatus, equipment and training simulators. To better manage time and resources, students can select from a range of courses taught at a location and time near them. Close to Home has three delivery types:
Direct Delivery:
Individual courses are offered at the department’s location of choice, and at times selected by the department. The OFA has a list of designated direct delivery courses that departments can select from.
Regional Delivery:
These are courses offered as a single course or in groups of courses (mini fire schools) made available to multiple departments in a region. If these courses are offered to fire-fighters from three or more departments and they meet the minimum student require-ments, the Academy will provide the course(s) at no cost.
Custom Delivery:
This selection is for specific training needs designated by your department. There may be a hazard in your coverage area your department needs to know how to deal with, or you may need a more advanced course for an area your department already is proficient
in. With Custom Delivery, the Academy works with your department to put together a course that meets your department’s needs.

First Responder Traumatic Stress Resources
OFA Close to Home Series
Ohio’s first responders stand ready to protect, defend and provide life-saving services to our citizens, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, the often dangerous nature of their work places them in constant risk, physically, mentally and emotionally. The Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services’ first responder liaison serves as a resource to first responders, their agencies, Ohio’s vast network of behavioral healthcare providers and the community at large and is available for trainings and information.
