About this file
This document is a Scope of Work/Technical Specifications for a Caterpillar D8T Dozer Certified Rebuild for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District. The project involves a comprehensive rebuild of a 2011 Caterpillar D8T Dozer (SN# KPZ03120) with approximately 10,760 hours, to be performed at a Caterpillar OEM Certified Repair Facility by certified technicians. The rebuild requires replacing or reconditioning virtually all major components including the engine, transmission, hydraulics, undercarriage, electrical systems, and cab, with the goal of returning the machine to "zero hour" condition.
Key requirements include using only new, genuine Caterpillar OEM parts, converting all lighting to LED, installing an appropriately sized winch, and completing the rebuild by April 15th, 2026. The project encompasses full transportation of the dozer (pickup within 40 miles of Fountain City, WI, with desired pickup between October 20th and November 6th), and return delivery to the Fountain City Service Base. The contractor must provide a factory warranty covering at least three years or 5,000 hours, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reserves the right to inspect the equipment during the rebuild process. The primary contact for the project is Chris Stai, reachable at Christopher.J.Stai@usace.army.mil or 612-790-2675.
