About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a solicitation for an ANS Decontamination Facility at Ridgway Reservoir, Colorado. The solicitation is seeking a contractor to design and construct a pre-engineered steel building with steel stud framing and sheet steel exterior. It will include transferring electrical power from an existing transfer switch and connecting to an existing building. Limited geological information and two soil test pits are available for the site. The document provides responses to questions on wall sections, the roof design, electrical equipment loads and panel sizing, as well as clarifying that all plumbing equipment will be contractor furnished. Anchor size and bollard quantities are also specified.

The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 140R4022R0018 issued by the Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation for an ANS Decontamination Facility at Ridgway Reservoir, Colorado. The pre-solicitation document provides additional details to support offeror responses.

• Do we have a Geotech report for the area, especially where we are boring?

Answer Limited geological information is available. Reclamation excavated two test pits at the approximate locations shown below for the purpose of determining soil percolation properties.

The backhoe encountered stiff soils (hardpan) at a depth of 3.5-4 ft. The final photo shows the bottom of excavation.

• Do we have a wall section for the building, or a detail from the existing buildings? The specs are talking about a pre-engineered steel building with steel stud framing. Just want to confirm what the walls/roof look like

Answer A typical wall section was not provided in the drawings. The detail at right shows a typical wall. Please note, there is no interior finish. Specification section 13 34 20 paragraph 2.07 B has been revised as such and included as part of this amendment. Roof is similar with sheet steel exterior and vinyl backed insulation held in place by purlins.

Electrical Questions:

o Can you confirm the size of the transfer switch, the photos are blurry when you zoom in.

See attached Informational Only Drawings ST111 & ST112 o What device is the transfer switch feeding and are we refeeding that piece of equipment or is that power being repurposed solely for the new building?

See attached Informational Only Drawings ST111 & ST112 for devices being fed. Also note that Drawing # 894-417-733 states “reconnect existing building”.

o There is no panel schedule or equipment schedule with loads of the new equipment, can we get loads and power requirements of the equipment going into the new building?

o They did not say which size the new panel is to be, only that it has to be sized per the NEC, which we can't do without knowing what we have to feed from it and also if the proposed power from the transfer switch will be of the appropriate size to do so.

See one line diagram below.

Plumbing Questions o Sounds like the park supplied some of the equipment for the last decontamination building. Just wanted to confirm this isn’t the case for this building.

All equipment is to be provided by the successful offeror in accordance with contract documents.

1 - Print 894-417-724 Underground Utilities

In the box "See Detail A" - it shows "Bollards" with four arrows to the location of the bollards.

Are there 4 bollards installed and a spare or are there 5 bollards to be installed and where is the 5th one located?

There are 4 bollards, the table QTY is incorrect.

2 - Print 894-417-730 - Oil Water Separator Stand

"Typical Foot Detail A" - What size anchor is to be used?
