1. Question: Will the existing ductwork rather electrical or hvac need to be removed to facilitate expansion joint replacement behind the ductwork, or can the existing joint be left in place in areas where it is not accessible without removing ductwork/bus work?
Answer: Removal of the iso-phase bus will not be allowed.
2. Question: Can holes be drilled through the existing concrete walls and patched afterwards
Answer: This method is acceptable. Concrete repairs should be in accordance with the Concrete
Repair spec. It is recommended the contractor keep holes 18" away from any expansion joints.
Recommend the contractor have a Radar survey of the walls prior to any drilling.
3. Question: Will the government allow the removal of small section of the existing bus work bringing power from the generator to the transformer to be removed and reinstalled. If so, will the government remove small section and replace?
Answer: Removal of the iso-phase bus will not be allowed. Note that the firewall will be 6' taller than currently installed after the
Transformer Fire Protection project is complete.
4. Question: Can we utilize the roof to install an outrigger support system for hoisting the windows? We can provide engineering to ensure the load is spanned correctly. Can a picture and drawing of the roof structure can be provided?
Answer: This method is not acceptable due to the wood plank construction of the roof structure and concerns with repair.

5. Question: Can concrete anchors be installed on the exterior and interior of the concrete structure just below the window elevation to support an access system? This would be an engineered access system for access and all holes would be repaired after completion.
Answer: This method is acceptable. Concrete repairs should be in accordance with the Concrete Repair spec. It is recommended the contractor keep holes 18" away from any expansion joints and have a radar survey completed prior to drilling.
6. Question: On the interior of the building just below the window sill elevation, is the wall a poured concrete wall or has a CMU wall been added?
Answer: The walls are poured concrete.
7. Question: Can you provide a few pictures from the interior of the building looking up at the windows? We would like to see what obstructions are in the window vicinity.
Answer: See attached photos.
8. Question: Semi-Truck deliveries- Where can they unload? How far do we need to travel the windows / equipment?
Answer: The lower parking lot can accommodate semi-trucks, the larger ones may need to back down into the lot though.
9. Question: How many penetrations are there in the concrete wall at the windows that we need to add fire protection? Can we get a quantity to base our bid on?
Answer: The only penetration is the 246'-7" x 9'-4" opening in the concrete for the windows.
10. Question: Where can we locate our dumpsters?
Answer: Dumpsters can be located at the North end of the transformer deck
11. Question: We will require a 20' x 30' laydown area can this be close to the building?
