AMENDMENT #1

SOLICITATION # 140P4322Q0017

Electrical Construction Contract for Salem Maritime NHS, Salem MA; and Saugus Iron Works NHS, Saugus MA

The following questions were presented at the bidder site-visit/walk-through on 4/3:

• Asked by David from Pro Electric. Question: Are the number of fixtures listed in section 4.0, 10, A, correct because the SOW lists 17 fixtures for 3rd floor inside box and 4 for 2nd floor

(same type as 3rd floor) but 13 and 5 are what were observed? Answer: Units previously listed as 17 should be changed to 13, and units previously listed as 4 should be changed to 5.

• Asked by Steve from Bussco. Question: In 4.0, 10, C, Would you permit use of duplex

(tandem) circuit breakers in this suitable enclosure instead of requiring a new sub-panel? Answer: Yes, this is a better approach than previously listed and this will be the new requirement, and the panel is rated for this type of use.

• Asked by David from Pro Electric. Question: Are there limitations on when the work under section 5.0, 30, option 1 can be performed due to it being a building with significant public visitor use many days? Answer: This work can only be performed on Mondays and Tuesdays, Federal Holidays excluded, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• From both David from Pro Electric and Steve from Bussco. Question/comment: The language in section 5.0, 30, option 1 about labeling circuits and and providing a written list of circuit information is vague, can we clarify. Answer: Change the Description paragraph of this section to "Description: Trace all circuits, from 5 electrical panels located in stock room next to (east of) Kitchen/break room at the SAMA Visitor Center, and 1 panel in the projection room, to determine which circuit breakers power which circuits and fixtures. Label the circuits by completing and installing a typed directory for each panel, and providing one additional copy of each directory to the COR. Also, complete and submit as-built drawings of all electrical circuits that are powered through these panels, drawn onto blueprints of the building to be supplied by COR to the awardee at the time of award."

NOTE: PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED REVISED SCOPE OF WORK WHICH ADDRESSES THESE CONCERNS javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$ctl00$body$homebody$RecentDocuments$C$RecentDocumentsControl$RecentDocumentResults$ctl02$DocumentNumberLink','')
