AMENDMENT #2
SOLICITATION # 140P4322Q0017
Electrical Construction Contract for Salem Maritime NHS, Salem MA; and Saugus Iron Works NHS, Saugus M
The following inquiry that demonstrated a need to clarify the requirement came up at the bidder site-visit:
1. QUESTION: Michael C. asked for more information regarding any requirements for the cable/wire run under the building (Section 4.0, Line 10. C., Pedrick Storehouse), what types of fasteners/wire support were required, and if the run needed to be water-tight, given that the building first floor and crawl space is exposed (or very close to) salt water.
2. ANSWER: All metal fasteners, clips, conduit or other metal items (not including wire and connectors) used below the first floor, and lower than 4 feet above the first floor, must be stainless steel or other corrosion resistant material approved by COR. Wiring used below the first floor, and lower than 4 feet above the first floor, must be a watertight run.
