Solicitation No. 140P4221R0008 RFI’s

1. In regards to the summary of work indicated in the specifications, Section 1.3 Paragraph C Option #3 is listed but the "Price Sheet" only has Option 1 and Option 2. Please clarify. Option 3 being left off the price sheet was an oversight. Please see the updated price sheet to be used for proposing.

2. In regards to the options, please confirm the options should be in the form of a deduct amount. For example the total price for Option 1 would be the credit or deduct amount to make repairs in lieu of full replacement. The government can not dictate that an option is either an add or deduction to the price proposal, however a deduction is acceptable if the contractor determines that an option requires less effort, cheaper materials etc.

3. Spec Section 01500 Paragraph 3.1 Temporary Facilities indicates "Contractor will reimburse the Government for all electricity used in the amount of .05 of the total contract amount." What does this mean? Is the contractor responsible for all temporary electric usage fees? This also applies to the water usage. The government will provide electrical service and water at no cost to the contractor. Please disregard the above spec section indicating contractor reimbursement of the cost of these services to the government.

4. Please confirm the Price Sheet should total CLIN 1 & 2 only and that 3 & 4 should be excluded from the total. The price sheet should be inclusive of options. Options will be evaluated by the Government and should be priced on the price sheet.

5. Option #1 states the following:" In Lieu of replacement of existing standing seam roof the existing roofing is to be repaired as required to make it watertight. The repairs shall include all identified in the initial investigation including all flashings, the dormer roof, pole gutter, rain leader... underlayment or roof sheathing." Please confirm the only repair work required in Option#1 are items 1 through 5 listed in the Summary of Work Spec paragraph 1.4 BASIS OF BID. The only repairs required under the Option #1 are those identified in the Basis of Bid 1 through 5 listed in the Summary of Work Spec paragraph 1.4 BASIS OF BID. Repairs in excess of the repairs outlined in 1.4 BASIS OF BID items 1 through 5 will be addressed as uncovered conditions through a contract modification. Note that items # 4 & 5 also apply to the Base Bid roof replacement.

6. There is a reference on page 83 to lead coated stainless. Would like to verify the intent is lead coated copper. The intent is lead coated copper sheet metal or terne coated copper.
