Amendment 1 – Q&As #1

1) Q: Per Section 304.01 it states that we are to add crushed aggregate if required. Since this will not be known until the work is started how are we to quote "if" required and how much will be needed?

A: This will not be required as there is enough material to pulverize in place.

Contractor to pulverize in place and get compaction to at minimum 95%.

2) Q: Section 304.03 states that it is necessary to remove and dispose of unsuitable material as directed by the government. Then to replace with crushed aggregate. This work is to be accomplished before the pulverizing process. What and how much area do you anticipate having to do this on?

A: This will not be required as there is enough material to pulverize in place.

Contractor to pulverize in place and get compaction to at minimum 95%.

3) Q: When can construction start?

A: Construction will begin once the Notice to Proceed is issued to contractor. There are certain temperature requirements stated in the specifications to complete the project. With those temperature requirements, work cannot start until the Spring of 2022. Spring brings high enough temperatures and once temperatures are adequate to complete the project per specifications, the Notice to Proceed will be issued.
