About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a federal contract solicitation addressing site access and logistics for a dump site operation.
The document addresses a contractor inquiry regarding vehicle access to a proposed dump site located at coordinates 46°31'31.2"N 93°23'01.1"W. The response confirms that tractor trailers are permissible for use at the site, though maneuvering space is limited. Contractors would be required to use nearby roads for turning around and would need to back into the dump site from an intersection, which the government acknowledges is not ideal but feasible. An aerial map and Google Maps link are provided to illustrate the site layout, showing the dump site location (marked in red) in relation to nearby roads (Auto Tour Road and Auto Road), a vault toilet, and the Rice Lake Observation Tower.

Q1. Can you tell us if there is sufficient room for a tractor trailer or if only a dump truck?
A1. They can use a tractor Trailer, however turning around they would have to use the road.
See the map below. The red circle is at the proposed dump site. You would have to turn and back in from the intersection most likely. It's not ideal but it could be done.
