Attachment 15 – Questions and Answers Amendment 0003
Q1: Based on the government response to a previous question regarding needing to provide arc flash placards, can the USDA confirm if the existing VFD’s have arc flash placards or if a coordination study has been performed?
A1: No Arc Flash placards exist on current VFD Equipment, and no coordination study has been performed on these.
Q2: If a coordination study has not been performed on these systems, please provide electrical one-line drawings for the systems and AIC ratings as well so a coordination study can be priced. Or is the contractor to assume a coordination study and arc flash placards are not required under this contract and will be performed under a separate contract?
A2: Contractor to assume Arc Flash placards not required under this contract. USDA is working on a separate contract to review all electrical systems under one arc flash study.
