Attachment 006 QandA Document

1. Is this project tax exempt? Yes

2. Will the site visit list be released? No

3. What are the working hours? RFP Section H.5.

4. Is there water and power our contractors can use during construction for power tools, equipment’s, charging, etc.? Yes USDA will provide water and power for tools and equipment

5. Confirm reuse regarding all sanitary napkin and toilet paper dispensers? Only reusing these two?

Yes, contractor will reuse the two sanitary napkins and toilet paper dispensers.

6. What are the parking restrictions on the loading docks? Contractor will not be able to park in the loading dock area, but short-term loading and unloading will be allowed.

6.1. Are there hour restrictions for these docks? No

6.2. Confirm dumpster staging area is at loading dock? The dumpster staging area will be out by the curb on the west side of building #1.

6.3. Can material be staged at the loading docks? Contractor is responsible for providing a container for storage of new materials, tools, and office areas. It will be placed on the north side of the west wing.

7. Are there restrooms contractors can use? Yes

8. Will porta potties be required? No porta potties are required.

9. Will the old lines need to be abated or just the insulation? Just the insulation.

10. Are there any old pictures available of what is to be abated? No

11. What is the approx. linear footage of insulation that needs to be abated? Unknown.

12. What are the work restriction requirements for this abatement? Time of work is approximately one hour.

13. Can the contractor perform abatement during regular hours? Yes

14. Confirm access is through what wall? The inner wall in the women’s bathroom.

15. Is there a cost schedule for what costs will be incurred by weekend work and or overtime work? Not applicable, see RFP Section H.5.

16. Can demolition be scheduled for a weekend? Not applicable, see RFP Section H.5.

17. Will grab bars be required? No, grab bars are not required.

18. The scope requires the drains located in the wall space be replaced, will the under slab DWV also be replaced? No, the drains will only be replaced from the bathroom fixtures with PVC to where the drain goes into the concrete floor.

19. Are there any special requirements for tile grout? No special requirements other than attempt to match the colors as closely as possible to the recently remodeled bathrooms in the lobby.

20. How much of the corridor will be allowed to block off for containment? The portion of the hallway between both bathrooms from door to door.

21. Will the new plumbing wall be the same configuration as existing? Yes, the existing configuration of the toilets urinal and sinks will not change.

22. Up to what point is replacement of the existing plumbing required? The bathroom drains will be replaced with a PVC piping from the toilet flanges to where the drain enters the concrete floor, a cleanout will be installed in the men’s side of the bathroom for better access cleaning of the drains if they become stopped up.

23. Up to what point are the floor drains to be replaced? Where the drains meet the concrete. No concrete removal will be required in this tasking.

24. Who is responsible for removal and reinstallation of the fire alarms and flood lights within the bathrooms? The contractor will be required to remove and install the emergency lights and fire alarms the Government will pay for the testing. The contractor is responsible for their operation.

25. Drop ceiling clarification: The contractor is required to replace the drop ceiling acoustic tiles and rails in the north wing bathrooms.
