We respectfully request that the level of pricing detail on the BOM be reduced to a Total for
Shelter & Components (line 51), with the 3 transportation‐related lines remaining separated.
Pricing for complete shelters is not typically broken out to the level shown and pricing down to the level shown is troublesome for manufacturers, especially when items are very much integrated (eg. 12 separate lines for the door components).
Agreed as long as the components identified are included in the shelter selected
Please clarify whether the shelter is expected to be transported by air. There are references in the general PWS, but not in Spec Package 2.
The shelter is expected to be installed via a road with a trailer and crane
Please provide an approximate location for the “near site” to which the shelter is initially to be transported (per the BOM).
My Office: 3005 Camino del Bosque Silver City, NM 88061

No the vendor will maintain position of the shelter until it is installed at the site
Please confirm the quantity and height of 19” racks required. 01 11 00 Section 3.16.A states
“…install three (4) 19‐inch wide, 84‐inch high equipment racks…”; Drawing A1 references “New
72‐inch High 19‐inch EIA Equipment Racks (x4)”; BOM references quantity of 4, but no height. QTY 4 and Height of 84"
Please clarify whether a temporary shelter (provide and/or install) is in scope. There is reference in 01 11 00 Section 3.4.E.2.a. to postponing demolition of the existing shelter until the temporary equipment enclosure is installed, but there do not appear to be any further details or specs provided for a temp enclosure.
The temporary shelter shall be provided and installed by the
FS ‐ Coordination is all that is required by this statement
Is the current shelter to be disposed of by the contractor, or does USFS wish to keep it? If it is to be retained, where is it to be transported? Disposed of by contractor
15 Please provide run lengths and quantities for RF cables (01 11 00 Section 3.11.B) 50', 2 ea 100' total estimate.
There are many sections which reference other Spec sections that don’t exist in the current document – at least not by the section numbers used. Ref 2.6 B 1, "detailed in Section 13 34 18‐
Prefabricated Communications Shelter." The highlighted section 13 34 18 is not in the Spec book, so it’s difficult to ensure we’re specifying a shelter that meets those requirements. It looks like an error in editing
