About this file
This amendment provides supplemental reference items for a solicitation seeking replacement of HVAC units at the Detroit Ranger District in the Willamette National Forest. The work includes installation of new HVAC units on the east and west sides of the building, with electrical work required to be performed by a state-licensed electrical contractor. A pre-bid meeting was held on May 18th where attendees toured the building and location of units. Questions were answered, including clarifying that one west side unit was relocated due to roof snow shed and all new units must avoid this area. Bids are due as specified in the original solicitation.
The related opportunity posting provides further details, seeking replacement of HVAC units and associated electrical and other associated work at the Detroit Ranger Station for the Department of Agriculture Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region, as described in the attached documents.

Detroit Ranger District HVAC Replacements
Detroit Ranger Station HVAC Site Meeting: May 18, 2021
In attendance were:
1. Chris Howard ‐ NWMG
2. Tom Callaghan ‐ Northwest Mechanical
3. Adam Hands ‐ Robert Lloyd Sheet Metal
4. Roger Bell ‐ US Forest Service
5. Josh Latham ‐ US Forest Service
The meeting started at 10:05 am PST in the Ranger Station Lobby. The meeting started with a brief description of the project and the following talking points:
1. beta.SAM notification issues. There might be an issue with email notifications from the system, so be sure to check back for any updates.
2. This project requires a State Licensed Electrical Contractor to perform the electrical work as per the contract.
3. There are a set of reference drawings and specifications that will be issued with
Amendment #2.
a. These are supplemental documents (drawings and specifications) which are referenced within already uploaded “1240BH21R0019‐ProjectDrawings” document.
b. See attached .zip file titled: Amendment #2 ‐ Detroit HVAC Reference Items
4. The Contract Drawings are from design and locations of service disconnects and may not match the drawings. No additional questions were asked at this time.
5. At this point we walked outside to review the location of the units. While we were out, a question was asked about the the location of the new unit being installed on the east side of the building, whether it was inside or outside of the fence. The unit will be located inside the fence for security reasons.
6. On the west side of the building, the unit layout did not match the drawings. It was noted that one of the units had to be moved due to snow shed off the building roof. All units installed in this contract must be placed to avoid the snow shed as well.
7. We continued the tour of the building, going inside to the Telecomm Room. From there we toured the mezzanine, Dispatch Office, and Conference Room as we walked through the inside of the building. No questions were asked during that time.
The meeting concluded at approximately 10:45 am PST.
