Where level grade exists between two CS staircases, set CS units as pavers to abut each other end to end. To prevent differential settling, support CS pavers on two 2x7 plank rails ripped from 2x14 recycled PT BW. Joints between 2x7 ends must fall in the middle of a CS paver so adjoining pavers settle as one unit. Embed 2x7 supporting planks in gravel bedding material. Install each CS so as to span both planks and to rest equally on surface of planks and surface of bedding material.
