About this file
This is an Addendum 2 to the Summary of Work for a truck wash replacement project in Clearwater, Florida, involving demolition of an existing manual truck wash facility and construction of new manual and automatic truck wash systems with associated infrastructure improvements. The base bid scope includes demolition and disposal of the existing manual truck wash concrete pad and equipment building contents, construction of a new manual wash pad with aluminum catwalk and piping, installation of a pre-engineered metal canopy, new manual wash equipment, water booster pump skid, hot water heater, potable water service with meter and backflow assembly, reclaimed water main for future connection, 480V electrical service with switchgear and conduits, NEMA 4X boxes for IT cabling and CCTV equipment, light poles and power wires for site lighting, and new asphalt pavement with striping in the southeast corner. An additive alternate scope includes construction of a new two-bay automatic truck wash with cloud-based management system, metal canopy, potable and reclaimed water mains extending from the manual to automatic wash, eight-inch sanitary sewer piping with manholes, electrical duct bank, sand/oil separator, and contaminated soil removal and replacement if necessary. The work is located on property owned by the City of Clearwater in public rights-of-way, with the site operating as an active solid waste yard throughout construction. The contractor must obtain all permits, bonds, and insurance, comply with all applicable municipal, county, state, and federal codes, and perform pre-operational testing prior to component startup.
The contract specifies a 270 consecutive calendar day period to substantial completion and 300 consecutive calendar days to final completion, with provisions requiring the contractor to supply two fixed project signs as described in the contract documents. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and services necessary for complete work performance, including repairs, testing, cleanup, replacements, and restoration of any damages caused during construction. Critical operational restrictions mandate that the contractor obtain Engineer review and Owner approval before taking existing facilities out of service, that the Owner's personnel perform all valve manipulations except in emergencies, and that all work comply with project permits. The site must remain operational as an active solid waste yard throughout the construction period.
