About this award

The Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation received a $463,378 project grant from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration under the Native American Employment and Training Program (CFDA 17.265), awarded July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. The grant funds comprehensive employment and training services designed to develop academic, occupational, and literacy skills for unemployed and underemployed American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals. Service delivery encompasses three primary categories: career services to prepare participants for unsubsidized employment and self-sufficiency; occupational training activities aligned with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); and follow-up supportive services including counseling and employment retention assistance for up to 12 months following program exit.

The grantee will provide direct employment and training opportunities with emphasis on occupational development, upward mobility, nontraditional employment pathways, and entrepreneurial skill development. Performance outcomes include measuring participant employment in the second and fourth quarters after program exit, median earnings attainment, credential achievement, skill gains, and service to employers.
