Telamon Corporation received a $583,343 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration for the National Farmworker Jobs Program (CFDA 17.264), effective July 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026. Through this award, Telamon delivers comprehensive workforce development and support services to eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and their dependents in North Carolina. Services include career counseling and individualized career services, occupational skills training leading to industry-recognized credentials, youth workforce development activities for participants aged 14-24, and related assistance such as allowance payments and short-term direct financial assistance to help farmworkers retain agricultural employment or participate in training programs.
Additionally, Telamon provides supportive services and housing assistance under this award, including direct payments for emergency and temporary housing, housing development initiatives designed to improve living conditions for underserved farmworker communities, and leveraging services to increase or maintain housing stock available to farmworkers. All services are delivered through a case management approach that emphasizes customer choice and focuses on helping eligible MSFWs obtain or retain unsubsidized employment, stabilize their employment in agriculture, and achieve economic self-sufficiency. The grantee is required to collect and report performance data to the Department of Labor on standard Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) metrics throughout the performance period.
