Description

Modification to existing contract number DTSA20-03-d-00758 task order 36. The postal and shipping sector security office within TSA's tsni office requires support in implementing the various security initiatives identified in a prior GAP analysis. The GAP analysis recommended and prioritized six potential protective programs: best practices publications, secure courier program, site assist visits, security awareness training, package handling standards, courier driver registry. The sector roadmap implementation will occur in two "tracks". Track 1 will provide additional analysis, planning, and support the stand-up of the first three programs - best practices publications, site assist visits, and secure courier program - in order of priority. Track 2 will stand up the remaining three programs. The programs and coordination efforts will also cultivate industry buy-in and consensus in order to ensure long term success. Where possible, the programs will result in activities that are self-implementing and perpetual due to a high level of industry ownership. The outcomes from this initiative will better enable TSA to meet its security goals in the following manner: - sustainable programs that industry stakeholders can endorse and self-implement - measurable progress towards implementing protective programs described in the postal and shipping sector specific plan - sustained communications, relationship-building, and collaboration on initiatives with key industry partners - planning and coordination to stand-up the six programs, in order of priority - additional insight into the security needs and practices of entities in the sector beyond the major four stakeholders task number 207 CO: SUE mussina contract specialist: paul bonsiero tsni
