About this program
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Aging funded home-delivered nutrition services for homebound older Americans under CFDA 93.705, with the most recent grant awards issued on March 18, 2009.
This program has not been active for over 17 years. All 56 documented awards were distributed as one-time Formula Grants on a single date in March 2009 under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, with combined federal obligations of $32 million. No subsequent grant opportunities or awards have been posted since the initial ARRA tranche. The award amounts ranged from $18,925 to $3.2 million per recipient, with typical awards in the $160 thousand to $650 thousand range. Representative awards included $2.3 million to Florida, $2 million to New York, and $1.9 million to Texas for home-delivered meal services and nutrition support to older adults. Individual award dates show completion between September 2010 and April 2011, indicating this was a time-limited ARRA stimulus initiative rather than an ongoing appropriated program.
No current grant opportunities are available under this Assistance Listing. The source contains no evidence of recent solicitations, open deadlines, or post-2009 funding activity. Organizations seeking federal support for home-delivered nutrition services for seniors should pursue alternative funding mechanisms, as this program appears to have concluded with the expiration of ARRA funds.
