About this program
The Department of Health and Human Services Immediate Office of the Secretary administers CFDA 93.295, an intergenerational HIV/AIDS prevention education pilot program targeting African American, Native American/American Indian, Hispanic/Latino, and Asian/Pacific Islander women and other female family members ages 12 and older, with the most recent grant award dated September 1, 2007.
This program is no longer actively funding. The five block grants in the portfolio were all awarded on a single date in September 2007 and obligated a combined $1.2 million in federal dollars. No grant awards have been disbursed in the past 19 years, and no recent grant opportunities are posted. The program funded community-based HIV/AIDS prevention education and health navigation initiatives serving specific populations. Recent awards included The Kitchen Table Wisdom and Wellness Project ($166 thousand), the Intergenerational Approaches to HIV/AIDS Prevention Education with Women Across the Lifespan Pilot Program ($287 thousand and $300 thousand in two separate awards), the Prospering! Program targeting high-risk urban African American women ($300 thousand), and Rescuing Time and Space: Expressions of Ourselves ($145 thousand). All funded projects operated under one-year grant periods ending August 31, 2008.
Assistance was provided entirely through Block Grants. The Department of Health and Human Services Immediate Office of the Secretary was the sole funding federal agency, responsible for all five awards and all federal dollars obligated.
Given the absence of grant awards since 2007 and no posted opportunities, this program is not a viable pursuit target at this time.
