About this opportunity
The City of Columbus Division of Water is requesting bids for ultra-high purity helium cylinders (291 cubic feet) to establish one or more indefinite quantity blanket purchase orders, with bids due September 11, 2026. The procurement responds to a force majeure situation from the current supplier and carries an estimated monthly requirement of 4 to 6 cylinders.
Delivery is required to two locations: the Water Quality Assiciency Laboratory at 910 Dublin Road and the Surveillance Laboratory at 1250 Fairwood Avenue, both in Columbus, Ohio. Orders will be managed by Rod Dunn, Manager of the Water Quality Assurance Laboratory, or Melodi Clark, Manager of the Surveillance Laboratory.
Bidders must submit fixed pricing covering the term through March 31, 2027. The bid requires pricing for six line items: cost per cylinder of ultra-high purity helium, delivery cost per trip, monthly demurrage or rental charge per cylinder, and three additional line items for which bidders may submit placeholder amounts of $1.00 to establish the blanket purchase orders in the system. Any additional charges must be quoted in the comments section of the bid or emailed to rjdunn@columbus.gov before the RFQ expiration date.
The City retains discretion to spend all, part, or none of the funding allocated on the purchase orders, reflecting flexibility based on actual operational needs. No estimated total contract value is specified.
